10-9-2023 (SINGAPORE) A Singaporean couple has garnered attention online for what netizens are calling “precision family planning” as all four of their children share the same birthday, September 6th.
According to The Straits Times, the couple’s four siblings, consisting of three girls and a boy, were born on September 6th in the years 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2023, respectively. Remarkably, all four children were delivered by the same gynaecologist and through natural births.
The couple, 49-year-old aircraft technician Salihin Ahmad Perbah and 39-year-old housewife Khairunnisa Abdul Karim, revealed that they hadn’t intentionally planned for all their children to share the same birthday. In fact, their fourth child was unexpected, as they had originally intended to stop having children after the birth of their third child in 2015.
Sharing a birthday has its advantages, Salihin noted. It’s easy to remember, and it’s cost-effective as there’s no need for separate birthday celebrations on different days at various locations. The couple also explained that every September 6th, they have multiple birthday cakes and guest lists, with each child planning their own celebration and making gift requests.
Dr. Jazlan Joosoph, the obstetrician and gynaecologist at Raffles Hospital who managed the births of all four children, mentioned that it is uncommon for more than two siblings to share the same birthday, particularly through natural births.
