7-9-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) A plane carrying 12 Israelis was forced to make an unscheduled landing in Malaysia yesterday morning while en route from Dubai to Singapore due to inclement weather.
According to a statement from the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Emirates airline flight EK354 made an unplanned stop in Kuala Lumpur due to unfavorable weather conditions.
Malaysia does not have diplomatic relations with Israel, and its citizens are not allowed to travel to Israel unless they obtain special permission.
The statement noted that the 12 passengers did not disembark from the plane during the emergency landing and waited for approximately 5 hours on the tarmac before the flight resumed and proceeded to Singapore.
Emirates airline expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by the incident in their statement.
