4-9-2023 (BANGKOK) China International School (Thailand) celebrated its official opening ceremony on August 17, 2023. The school, positioned as a pioneer of Chinese curriculum education in the country, aims to foster cultural understanding while offering a comprehensive international Chinese language education program.
As the first modern international school in Thailand to adopt the Chinese curriculum, China International School (Thailand) provides elementary, middle, and high school levels of education. The institution utilizes teaching materials sourced from China and primarily conducts classes in Chinese, supplemented by English and Thai languages. The goal is to equip students with a deep understanding of the Chinese language, culture, and academia, providing them with an education on par with studying in China itself, eliminating the need to travel abroad.
One notable feature of the school is the introduction of Thailand’s inaugural “Qilu Cultural Centre,” which serves as a platform for advanced Chinese culture learning systems and diverse interest-based courses. These courses are taught by a team of experienced instructors, the majority of whom come from China.
During the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Krasae Chanawongse, President of Krirk University, highlighted the longstanding strong ties between Thailand and China, emphasizing the cultural exchange that underpins their relationship. He viewed the launch of China International School (Thailand) and its Chinese language curriculum as a timely initiative. The school not only offers students a high-quality Chinese education but also nurtures an international perspective and competitiveness, laying a solid foundation for their future growth. Dr. Chanawongse expressed optimism, stating, “It is our aspiration that China International School (Thailand) becomes an exemplary platform for Chinese language curriculum instruction in Thai society.”
To support the educational and pedagogical advancement of China International School (Thailand) in the years ahead, generous contributions were made by Mr. Qi Xiaoyun and Mr. Chen Yulong.
The inauguration ceremony also featured the “Silk Road Youth Cultural Exchange between China and Thailand,” a collaborative endeavor involving teachers and students from China International Schools and Dalian University’s Faculty of Fine Arts. This engaging event showcased various cultural forms such as singing, playing, and dancing. Notably, a significant collaboration was solidified between China International School (Thailand) and The Confucius Institute at Chiang Mai University, aimed at facilitating students in the Chinese language proficiency test (HSK). The entire event was broadcast nationwide, reaching a broad audience.
The launch of China International School (Thailand) marks a significant milestone in Thai education, introducing a new dimension to the educational landscape and strengthening cultural ties between Thailand and China.
