30-8-2023 (HANOI) Vietnam has witnessed a remarkable resurgence in its tourism industry, with more than 7.8 million international arrivals recorded in the first eight months of this year. This figure stands at 5.4 times higher than the number of visitors during the same period in the previous year, as per the latest data released by the General Statistics Office (GSO).
However, it’s important to note that these numbers still represent 69.2 percent of the tourism figures recorded before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the GSO.
The majority of these arrivals in the initial eight months hailed from Asia, constituting around 76.5 percent of the total, with tourists from Europe and the Americas following closely behind, as per the provided data.
During this period, South Korea, China, and the United States emerged as the top three source markets for Vietnam’s tourism industry, reaffirming the nation’s global appeal as a travel destination.
