25-8-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) The proprietor of a tyre shop found themselves in a harrowing situation when an unbearable stench, persisting for several days, led them to investigate the source. To their utter astonishment, their search for the source of the foul smell revealed a swollen corpse in a drain.
Gan Peck Cheng, the Member of Parliament for Penggaram, from the Democratic Action Party (DAP), disclosed that an intersection between Mohamad Aji Road and Sultana Road in Batu Pahat had been plagued by a noxious odor for days. The owner of a tyre shop located in the vicinity reported that the unsettling stench had been a recurrent issue over the past one to two days. Gan shared, “They followed the stench, and to their shock, they discovered what appeared to be a body in the drain. They immediately called the police, who confirmed the presence of a body in the drain.”
According to the on-site video footage she provided, the unidentified body was submerged in the drainwater, dressed in a red top, and lying face down.
Gan explained that due to the advanced state of decomposition of the unknown body, rescue personnel were unable to retrieve it smoothly.
“They may need to break the concrete cover above the drain to access the body. The gender, age, and ethnicity of the deceased remain unknown at this time.”
