16-8-2023 (PATTAYA) Thai police have apprehended a Russian man following the tragic death of his girlfriend, who fell from the seventh floor of a hotel in the popular resort city of Pattaya.
A disturbing video captured by a security camera showed 32-year-old Daria Iuzifiak hanging upside down by her legs from a window sill on the seventh floor of the Seven Seas Condo Resort. Within seconds, she plummeted headfirst to the ground, with her hands flailing helplessly.
Hotel security guards discovered her naked from the waist down, lying face-down in a pool of blood. Meanwhile, her 30-year-old boyfriend, Oeaop Nbahobny Fedor, appeared to be present near the window during the incident, which occurred at approximately 6 a.m. on Sunday.
When police arrested Fedor, he was shirtless and visibly agitated. It took several officers to subdue him and apply handcuffs. Despite the chaotic scene, Police Lieutenant-Colonel Kanisorn Apisop, the superintendent in Pattaya’s Jomtien district, stated that there were no signs of assault on Iuzifiak prior to her death.
“The couple’s room was in disarray, with food containers and alcohol bottles scattered about, but there was no evidence of a physical altercation or struggle,” said Lt-Col Kanisorn.
Nevertheless, Fedor was taken into custody to determine his involvement in Iuzifiak’s tragic demise. He denies assaulting her, and his drug test yielded negative results.
Lt-Col Kanisorn mentioned that the police are currently reviewing additional security camera footage as part of their investigation.
Investigators have established that Iuzifiak had been staying with Fedor at the hotel for approximately a week. Prior to the incident, she had filed a police report and sought assistance from immigration officials after misplacing her passport.
A post-mortem examination is underway to ascertain whether Iuzifiak was still alive before the fall occurred.
