14-8-2023 (SYDNEY) A Malaysia Airlines flight bound for Kuala Lumpur had to be turned back to Sydney due to a mid-air emergency incident, according to local reports.
The incident unfolded on Malaysia Airlines flight MH122, which departed Sydney at 1:40 pm local time and subsequently made its return to the runway at 3:47 pm.
As the aircraft landed back at Sydney International Airport, it was met by a gathering of emergency response vehicles stationed at the end of the runway.
Sources from Sydney-based 9news have indicated that Australian Federal Police (AFP) were called to respond to the situation, characterized as an emergency incident.
According to 9news, a social media post revealed that an individual on board had allegedly been “threatening staff and passengers.”
