12-8-2023 (BANGKOK) In a shocking turn of events, the lifeless body of Tang Zongfei, a 36-year-old Chinese national, was discovered in a pond in Rayong. The grim discovery was made by the local police, who immediately noticed that Tang’s head bore signs of injury and was oddly covered with a black cloth. To make matters more perplexing, his neck and legs were bound tightly with wires. The authorities have launched a thorough investigation to determine the cause of his untimely demise.

According to Pol Col Chaiyapong Sangpongchai, the superintendent of Pluak Daeng Police, security footage revealed Tang leaving his apartment building around 1 a.m. on Thursday. It was only when he failed to show up for work the following day that his concerned colleagues decided to visit his apartment. To their horror, Tang was nowhere to be found. Their search eventually led them to Bueng Pradit pond in Pluak Daeng, approximately two kilometers away from his residence, where they discovered his lifeless body at 9 p.m. on the same day.
In an effort to shed light on this tragic incident, the police summoned five individuals who were known to be associated with Tang, including both Thai and Chinese individuals, for questioning. However, no concrete evidence of any suspicious motives emerged from their inquiries. Further inspection of Tang’s apartment revealed that none of his personal belongings appeared to be missing.
“The cause of death remains elusive at this stage of the investigation. There are no indications of any altercations between Tang and any individuals, either at home or in the office,” Pol Col Chaiyapong stated. The perplexing circumstances surrounding Tang’s demise have left investigators puzzled, prompting them to conduct a more thorough examination of the crime scene as well as Tang’s apartment in hopes of unearthing additional evidence and potential leads.
An autopsy performed on Tang’s body revealed that his head had suffered a severe blow, while the rest of his body showed no visible signs of violence. Notably, his hands were unbound, in stark contrast to the tightly secured wires around his neck and legs. The attending doctor concluded that the head injury may not have been the direct cause of death. Tang was discovered shirtless, wearing nothing but green shorts when rescue workers stumbled upon his lifeless form.
Tang had been employed at Zhongce Rubber Co Ltd, a wheel-manufacturing company located in the Amata City industrial estate in Rayong. His colleagues and acquaintances have expressed shock and disbelief at the tragic loss of their friend, eagerly awaiting updates from the ongoing investigation.
