A young Spanish chef, identified as Daniel Sancho, 29, stands accused of brutally murdering Dr. Edwin Arrieta, 44, a Colombian plastic surgeon and his close friend. The shocking details of the crime have unfolded, leaving the community in disbelief.
It all began when both Sancho and Arrieta arrived separately on the island, known for its Full Moon Parties and idyllic beaches. Their paths converged as they had planned to meet on Phangan Island for a holiday getaway. Preliminary investigations indicate that the two had been friends for a long time, and their vacation rendezvous seemed like a joyful reunion.
However, the idyllic atmosphere turned dark when Sancho allegedly committed a heinous crime against his friend. As per witness statements and CCTV footage, Sancho was seen purchasing a range of items, including a knife, plastic bags, and cleaning supplies. He then lured Arrieta to a remote hotel resort in the Lamai Beach area. This particular resort had been booked by Arrieta, who had made an online reservation for both of them.
