4-8-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, has been admitted to the National Heart Institute (IJN) for treatment of an infection. According to a post on his official Facebook page, Dr Mahathir was admitted on Tuesday and is currently being treated for the infection.
The post included two photos of Dr Mahathir going through some files at his hospital ward, showing that he is still active and engaged despite his hospitalization. This is not the first time that Dr Mahathir has been admitted to IJN, as he was previously admitted in January 2022 for an elective medical procedure.
Dr Mahathir has also had a history of health issues, including being confirmed positive for Covid-19 in August last year, which led to his admission to IJN once again.
