2-8-2023 (MOSCOW) In a horrifying case that has shocked the nation, a man in Russia stands accused of kidnapping a woman and subjecting her to 14 years of captivity as his sex slave in a makeshift dungeon. The accused, Vladimir Cheskidov, 51, allegedly committed over 1,000 rapes and brutal beatings against the victim, identified only as Ekaterina. According to reports, Ekaterina managed to escape from Cheskidov’s home in the village of Smoleno, located in the Ural Mountains, on Monday (July 31).
During a custody hearing held on Tuesday, Cheskidov appeared emotionally distressed and claimed that he and Ekaterina shared a “mutual love” for each other. However, the Russian law enforcement officials have made disturbing discoveries. Human remains were reportedly found in the basement of Cheskidov’s residence, and a collection of sex toys, muzzles, and pornographic CDs were also uncovered, as reported by local media outlets.
Cheskidov now faces grave charges, including murder, rape, and kidnapping. Additionally, his 72-year-old mother has been arrested, allegedly playing a role in Ekaterina’s suspected kidnapping.
Ekaterina, aged 33, recounted her harrowing experience to the police, stating that Cheskidov had held her captive since 2009. During this period, she was confined to a padlocked bedroom with barred windows and was only allowed to perform household chores at knifepoint. The victim further revealed that she endured relentless torture and severe beatings for even minor offenses.

In her testimony, Ekaterina recounted a chilling incident from 2011 when Cheskidov allegedly murdered a woman named Oksana. She claimed to have been forced by Cheskidov to help dismember the victim’s body for disposal. Cheskidov referred to Oksana as his “wife.”
According to Ekaterina, her nightmarish ordeal began when she was just 19 and encountered the then-37-year-old Cheskidov at a bus depot in the city of Chelyabinsk. He lured her to his house for drinks but then brandished a knife, announcing that she was now his hostage.
Cheskidov, who is unemployed, reportedly silenced Ekaterina with duct tape to prevent her from calling for help and tied her to a beam to prevent escape whenever he left the premises.
The tragic cycle finally broke when Cheskidov, who had been excessively drinking for months, experienced an alcohol-induced psychotic episode. Following this incident, his mother called for help, and he was taken to a mental health institution.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Ekaterina’s mother urged her to escape, leading her to find her sister nearby and call the police.
Cheskidov has been declared fit for trial and remains in custody, while his mother, Cheskidova, has been released. In a statement to the media, Cheskidova defended her son, claiming that Ekaterina lived with him willingly and acted like a “queen,” refusing to work or take any responsibility. The case has sent shockwaves through the country, highlighting the need for greater awareness and action against such heinous crimes.
