2-8-2023 (PARIS) A daring armed gang executed a brazen robbery at a prestigious Parisian store, targeting the luxury jewellery and watch brand Piaget on Tuesday (Aug 1). In a daring daytime heist, the thieves managed to escape with a staggering haul estimated to be worth €10 million to €15 million. The incident unfolded around 1 pm, and according to early reports, three individuals were involved, with at least one of them brandishing a weapon.
Despite the high stakes and the presence of a weapon, the robbery was executed without any harm to bystanders or store staff, confirmed by a reliable police source.
The audacious robbery took place at the Piaget store, situated on the renowned Rue de la Paix in the heart of Paris. This location is in close proximity to the prestigious Place Vendome and is known for housing several high-end jewellery brands.
This isn’t the first time the upscale neighborhood has witnessed such a daring crime. Back in April, another high-profile heist occurred when three motorbike-riding thieves robbed the Bulgari store, fleeing with several million euros worth of precious jewellery.
Piaget, a luxury watchmaker founded in Switzerland, has garnered a reputation for crafting opulent timepieces with price tags reaching tens of thousands of euros. Additionally, the brand offers a stunning range of high-end jewellery. The esteemed company operates as a subsidiary under the Richemont group, which also owns various other luxury goods companies, such as Cartier, Baume and Mercier, Chloe, and Van Cleef and Arpels.
