31-7-2023 (SINGAPORE) An incident occurred on Monday (Jul 31) where a passenger from the Royal Caribbean cruise ship, Spectrum of the Seas, fell overboard into the Singapore Strait, according to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).
The MPA was notified of the incident at approximately 7:50 am on Monday, and the vessel was en route to Singapore at the time.
In response to the situation, the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) issued a navigational safety broadcast to all vessels in the Singapore Strait and those in port, urging them to be vigilant and report any sightings of the missing person.
As of Monday night, the passenger vessel is currently docked in Singapore and assisting with the ongoing investigations, as stated by the MPA in an email statement sent after 9 pm.
