The 30-year-old singer sparked rumours of marital troubles when she was spotted at Wimbledon without her wedding band. According to sources close to the “7 Rings” singer, the couple “have been separated since January but have remained incredibly amicable.”
An insider added that the decision to split was mutual, and that they had been having problems before January. However, they have decided to remain best friends and have been really good friends throughout the entire process. Their friends and families have been trying to protect them.
Grande and Gomez secretly tied the knot in May 2021 at her home in Montecito, California, in a tiny and intimate ceremony with less than 20 people. The couple and both families were overjoyed with the event. The pop star had shared the first photos of the wedding days later, revealing how she had worn a white Vera Wang wedding dress and veil.
Gomez had proposed to Grande in December 2020 with a pearl and diamond ring, with the pearl from a ring that the singer’s grandmother had given her. The couple had started dating earlier that year and featured in Grande’s and Justin Bieber’s music video for “Stuck With U.”
Grande was previously engaged to actor and comedian Pete Davidson in 2018 before they split up.
