9-7-2023 (SINGAPORE) A brown horse caused quite a spectacle on Saturday as it made an unexpected appearance on the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE). A video capturing the horse’s adventure was shared on social media platforms, including the Complaint Singapore Facebook group and SG Road Vigilante’s Facebook page.
In the footage, the bewildered horse can be seen trotting along the busy expressway, seemingly unsure of its surroundings as cars whiz past. The presence of a saddle on the horse indicates that it is not a wild horse. At one point, the horse pauses in the middle of the road, turning to face a car before continuing its journey along the side of the road against the flow of traffic.
Another video shows an officer from the Land Transport Authority (LTA) guiding the horse towards Turf Club Avenue. Although the initial caption of the video suggested that the horse had escaped from the Singapore Turf Club, it was later clarified that the horse actually belonged to the Bukit Timah Saddle Club.
According to a spokesperson from the Singapore Turf Club, “We are aware that a horse belonging to Bukit Timah Saddle Club briefly found its way outside of its stable and onto the roads. It has since been safely returned to its stable.”
