9-7-2023 (BANGKOK) The Thai government has initiated a new campaign aimed at attracting overseas visitors to participate in health tourism and related products and services. The campaign, titled “Discover the New You!”, is supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and over 130 health and wellness businesses, including hotels, health resorts, spas, hospitals, and clinics.
Government spokesperson Anucha Burapachaisri expressed gratitude for the cooperation of all sectors in promoting health tourism and sustainable tourism during a media briefing on Saturday. He stated that Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha acknowledges the efforts and is confident that this campaign will not only capture the attention of tourists but also contribute to the economic growth of the country.
The campaign is aligned with the “Amazing Thailand Health and Wellness New Chapters New Experience” project, which aims to offer products and experiences that appeal to tourists under the concept of “meaningful wellness”.
To maximize the campaign’s reach, the TAT has invited business operators and social media influencers to participate. Currently, various media networks are promoting 15 health tourism routes.
The TAT’s objective is to leverage Thailand’s renowned reputation for health and wellness products and boost the economy through increased tourist spending. The government aims to achieve a target of at least 18 million baht in spending by September.
