5-7-2023 (MANILA) More than 56 percent of the total 26 million households in the Philippines have internet access, according to a survey released on Tuesday by the Philippine Statistics Agency. The survey revealed that Metro Manila had the highest proportion of households with internet access at 74.6 percent, while the Zamboanga Peninsula, a region in the south, had the lowest rate at 28.5 percent.
Three other regions in the main Luzon island had higher internet access rates than other regions across the archipelago country. Two in every five households use mobile broadband networks via a handset, a SIM card, or a USB modem as the primary type of internet connection, while 15 percent of the households have an internet connection through a fixed network.
The survey also showed that more than 80 percent of households have a mobile phone.
