21-9-2023 (SEOUL) On Thursday, JYP Entertainment (JYPE) revealed that three members of the popular K-pop group Stray Kids, namely Lee Know, Hyunjin, and Seungmin, were involved in a car accident.
In a statement posted on Stray Kids’ official fansite, JYPE explained that the incident occurred on Wednesday while the three members were returning to their dorms. The vehicle they were traveling in experienced a minor collision.
The agency further stated that the idols immediately sought medical attention at a hospital. Following a thorough examination, it was determined that they had sustained mild muscle pain and bruises as a result of the accident.
Due to their condition, the members were advised to undergo “conservative treatment,” and as a consequence, they had to cancel several of their scheduled appearances.
Lee Know and Hyunjin, who were expected to make appearances at Gucci’s and Versace’s shows, respectively, during this year’s Milan Fashion Week, will no longer be able to attend the events. Additionally, Seungmin, who was set to host a birthday livestream on YouTube on September 22, will have to cancel the celebration.
Furthermore, Stray Kids’ upcoming performance at the Global Citizen Festival in New York has been modified. Only three out of the group’s eight members, namely Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han, will be able to take part in the festival.
Stray Kids, who officially debuted in 2018, have risen to prominence as one of the biggest boy groups in the world. Their latest Korean studio album, “5-Star,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album’s lead single, “S-Class,” even won the MTV Video Music Award for Best K-Pop in 2023.
