9-1-2025 (KUALA LUMPUR) Police have detained three Indonesian nationals following the tragic discovery of a deceased woman and her newborn infant along a road in Taman Impiana Kelapa Sawit, authorities announced today.
According to Kulai District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Tan Seng Lee, the arrests were carried out in separate operations across Kulai and Johor Baru on Wednesday afternoon. The suspects, consisting of two men and one woman aged between 42 and 53, are currently under police custody until Saturday for further investigation.
“Several items of interest were recovered during the arrests, including four mobile telephones, a motor vehicle, and bedding materials consisting of a mattress and mat,” ACP Tan revealed at a press briefing on Thursday.
The grim discovery was made on Tuesday morning when passers-by spotted the bodies at Jalan Impiana 5 at approximately 8:15 am. The infant was found with its umbilical cord still attached, and what appeared to be placental tissue was located nearby. Medical examiners confirmed both victims were deceased at the scene, with no visible signs of external trauma.
Investigators are pursuing the case under Section 316 of the Penal Code, which addresses the causing of death to an unborn child. If convicted, the suspects could face imprisonment for up to ten years and monetary penalties.
The identities of the deceased woman and infant have not yet been established, as authorities continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
