22-12-2024 (KUALA LUMPUR) Three suspects, including a woman, have been placed under a seven-day remand order following their alleged involvement in a brazen daylight robbery that sent shockwaves through social media after CCTV footage of the incident went viral.
The suspects, all in their thirties, appeared before Magistrate Suzana Mokhtar at the Muar Magistrate’s Court on Saturday, where they were remanded to facilitate investigations under Sections 395 and 397 of the Penal Code pertaining to gang robbery with weapons.
The dramatic arrest took place in Sungkai, Perak, following an intensive police operation that spanned multiple states. The investigation was launched after chilling CCTV footage emerged on Facebook showing two masked assailants, armed with machetes, forcing their way into a residential property in Taman Sri Treh, Muar, at approximately 5:21 pm on Tuesday.

In a significant breakthrough, law enforcement officials discovered what they believe to be the getaway vehicle abandoned in a residential garage in Jasin, Melaka, the following day. Deputy Officer in Charge of Police District (OCPD) Superintendent Muhammad Aidil Roneh Abdullah confirmed that the vehicle was located around 11:30 am on Wednesday, providing investigators with crucial evidence linking the suspects to the crime.
