18-3-2024 (SINGAPORE) In a devastating incident that unfolded at a JTC industrial building in Bedok, a 23-year-old foreign worker tragically lost his life after being crushed by heavy machinery on Saturday morning. The incident occurred at a steam cake manufacturer located on the fifth floor of the building along Bedok North Street 5.
According to reports, the accident took place at approximately 8:25 am, prompting an immediate response from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). Paramedics swiftly arrived at the scene and conveyed the critically injured man to Changi General Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, the young worker’s injuries proved fatal, and he tragically succumbed to them at 3:35 pm, just a few hours after the incident occurred. The news of his untimely death has left the community in shock and mourning.
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) confirmed that they received a call for assistance from Changi General Hospital around the same time, indicating the severity of the worker’s injuries. The police have ruled out homicide following preliminary investigations.
