29-8-2023 (BANGKOK) In the early hours of Tuesday, a total of thirteen Vietnamese nationals were apprehended for operating an online gambling operation from three hotel rooms in Pattaya. This operation was uncovered following a joint operation by investigators from the Metropolitan Police Division 5 and Pattaya police.
The raid was conducted at a hotel located on Pattaya Sai 3 road in Bang Lamung district, with law enforcement officers entering the premises shortly after midnight. Inside the three hotel rooms, thirteen Vietnamese men were discovered.
During the operation, police confiscated a significant amount of equipment used for running the online gambling operation, including 25 computers and 58 mobile phones.
Subsequently, all thirteen individuals were transported to the Pattaya City police station, where they were officially charged with participating in the operation of an online gambling enterprise and persuading individuals to gamble either directly or indirectly.
