27-7-2023 (HANOI) Lotte Shopping Co., the retail arm of South Korea’s fifth-largest conglomerate Lotte Group, has announced plans to unveil its expansive commercial complex, Lotte Mall Westlake Hanoi, in Vietnam’s capital on September 22 this year.
The complex, situated in Hanoi’s West Lake new urban area, will span an impressive 354,000 square meters, equivalent to about 50 soccer fields, and will offer a diverse array of facilities, including shopping malls, a supermarket, a hotel, an aquarium, and a cinema.
Pre-opening events for the mall are set to begin on July 28. Strategically positioned in a prime residential and commercial district, Lotte Mall aims to become a prominent landmark and a central business hub in Hanoi.
The shopping complex, encompassing 233 stores and covering over 60% of the total area, is geared towards serving the burgeoning young population in the West Lake area of Hanoi. With a unique mix of 85 signature stores, the mall is set to introduce 25 new brands to Vietnam, 28 new entrants to Hanoi, and 32 flagship concept stores.
Exciting features of the complex include KidZania, an interactive children’s career experience theme park, Champion1250, an indoor playground, as well as various cultural spaces like bookstores, galleries, and cooking studios.
The basement of Lotte Mall will house Lotte Mart, an innovative grocery store spanning approximately 4,300 square meters, with plans to enhance the grocery display ratio by up to 90%. Additionally, Bottle Bunker, a wine specialty store, will occupy around 800 square meters.
In addition to the shopping mall, a 23-story building will house a hotel and office spaces. The Lotte Hotel will open the 23-story L7 West Lake Hanoi by Lotte, offering 264 rooms and 192 residences, providing top-notch 5-star facilities and services.
Attracting attention as the largest downtown aquarium in Vietnam, the Lotte World Aquarium Hanoi will cover approximately 9,000 square meters and house a 3,400-ton tank. One of its standout features is the main tank, showcasing curved acrylic panels measuring 18 meters long and 5.8 meters high.
Lotte Cultureworks will also introduce the 1,007-seat Lotte Cinema, equipped with premium facilities, including two exclusive theaters named Charlotte and Recliner.
Lotte Shopping aims for the mall to invigorate the local economy, with expectations of creating over 3,000 jobs. The presence of numerous domestic brands is anticipated to act as a catalyst for the international expansion of South Korean companies, promoting the spread of K-culture in various sectors such as fashion, food, and cultural activities.
